William Milo (Helix/Colorado Mesa) – 2016 PreSeason RMAC Defensive MVP


Success must run in the Helix Highlanders bloodline. William Amu Milo DT (5’10 – 290lbs) has been named the Pre Season RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. This is nothing new to Milo in 2013 he was Co-Defensive Freshman Player of the Year. Milo played in 10 games, starting the final three. Milo made 18 tackles, with three for loss with one sack.

In 2014, Milo utilized his redshirt year to get his grades up. “I had a difficult time adjusting. The responsibility and all the freedom was overwhelming. The result was my grades suffered. I let my family, teammates and myself down. It was a true learning experiencing, that made me more focus and more hungry”. Milo expressed.

In 2015 Milo started all 11 games at nose tackle and finished third on the team in tackles with 61. The San Diego, Calif. native made a season-high 15 tackles, including eight solo, and 2.5 tackles for loss against Colorado Mines. Milo was second on the team in tackles for loss (9.5) and tied for second with two sacks.

2016 sky is the limit Milo and the Mavs. Colorado Mesa coming off a 9-2 season and ready to battle rival Colorado-Pueblo and battle for the RMAC Title and auto-bid to the playoffs.
