In the second quarter, Madison sophomore, Kenan Christon, decided it was his turn to get in the endzone as well, he rushed for two touchdowns. Mira Mesa did get on the board with a rushing touchdown by Giovanni Herrera midway through the third quarter and that would be their only score of the night.

With the win, Madison moves up to 8-1 on the season and the loss drops Mira Mesa to 1-8.

When speaking with Madison’s head coach, Rick Jackson, after the game he explains, “This is a great win, but next week is the real test. #1 vs #2 in the county, we start preparing now.”

Jackson was referring to Madison’s match up next week with the power house Cathedral Catholic.
