Madison Doesn’t Miss A Beat – (8-1)

With senior quarterback, Terrell Carter, not playing this week due to a concussion in last weeks win over Lincoln, Madison found a way to defeat Mira Mesa for their last regular season home game 48-7.Senior running back, Erick Buchanan, gave Madison an early lead in the first quarter with 2 rushing touchdowns. In the second quarter, Madison sophomore, Kenan Christon, decided it was his turn to get in the endzone as well, he rushed for two touchdowns. Mira Mesa did get on the board with a rushing touchdown by Giovanni Herrera midway through the third quarter and that would be their only score of the night.

With the win, Madison moves up to 8-1 on the season and the loss drops Mira Mesa to 1-8.

When speaking with Madison’s head coach, Rick Jackson, after the game he explains, “This is a great win, but next week is the real test. #1 vs #2 in the county, we start preparing now.”

Jackson was referring to Madison’s match up next week with the power house Cathedral Catholic.

Madison and Cathedral Catholic will battle for the Western League Title on Nov. 4 at 7:00 at Cathedral Catholic.
